Information regarding our
legal battle in Armenia
This is the general letter
we circulated January 19, 2005 to all our supporters.
Dear Friends:
As you know, the Prosecutor
General's office appealed the
judge's decision of Dec. 25. We have just received
the next court date as I
have listed below. Our lawyer tells us that
it is critical to again have
the court packed with observers -- even more
than during the last round of
hearings. We fear that the PG's office has played
their games behind the
scenes, thus the long delay in having the court
date set.
Please see the new articles
on www.hetq.am Edik Baghdasaryan has posted
our
second 'Letter to the Editor' and he has written
a long and thorough article
about the details of the case drawing on actual
testimony given to the
investigators in Office of the General Prosecutor.
We both learned facts
from this article that we did not know! We had
never had the opportunity to
'see' the testimony by Igityan or that given
by others. You can reach that
article by going to the Court link or by following
the link "Prosecutor
General's Office vs. Najarians" found at
the bottom of the first article.
(When you go to the link, you'll see the same
building photo, but the
article is different)
I am also attaching a list
of email addresses of various officials in
Armenia to whom you could write voicing your
concern regarding the handling
of our case -- lack of transparency, etc.
Regarding the hearing date
-- next Tuesday -- please circulate this
information to as many people as you can everywhere
in the world. We need
people to contact their friends and family in
Armenia to be observers at
this hearing. Please note that the court where
this hearing is different
than the first court hearing.
We are grateful for all of
the support and help from friends everywhere.
It is making the difference between having the
corruption win vs. the possibility of forcing
a just solution despite the interests of some
very high ranking persons – who have yet
to be named.
Carolann and George
Hearing Date for Appeal is January 25, 2005,
2:00 PM, at Court of
Investigation for Criminal and Military Cases
(behind Hotel Marriot
Armenia), Judge Arthur Poghosyan.
